St. Ann Catholic School
St. Ann Catholic School is located in Bartlett, Tennessee. We are Christ-centered, student-focused, and rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith. We strive to help every student grow in faith, knowledge, character, and a love of service.
Our school serves students from PreK through 8th grade, providing a supportive environment where students are known, valued, and encouraged to discover their God-given gifts. Through strong academics, Catholic formation, fine arts, athletics, and a variety of extracurricular opportunities, we prepare our students to become confident, compassionate, and responsible young people.
As part of the St. Ann Catholic community, our school works closely with St. Ann Catholic Church, which serves as our parish. The parish supports our students' sacramental life, including opportunities for Mass, Reconciliation, and other sacraments throughout their years at St. Ann School.
At St. Ann, we believe education is a partnership among students, families, teachers, the parish, and the entire school community. Together, we strive to create a place where faith is lived, friendships grow, and every child is inspired to become the person God created them to be.

History
Saint Ann Catholic School opened in September 1960, six years after Saint Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett became a parish. Father Leonard Oglesby, the first pastor, who was a former teacher himself, procured the services of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Kentucky to open an elementary school at Saint Ann. In August of the same year, Sister Mary Thomas became principal of Saint Ann. Two other Sisters of Charity and two lay teachers opened the school to 150 students in grades 1 through 8.
Throughout the years, additions and changes have been made to the original structure to accommodate the growth of the Bartlett and surrounding communities. The school facility consists of 30 classrooms, a library, computer and science labs, an art room, music and band rooms, LIFE (resource) room, SPARKS (gifted) room, outdoor classroom, two gymnasiums, a full-service cafeteria and administrative office. The school was led from 1960-1982 by principals from the religious order of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Kentucky: Sister Mary Thomas Lawrence, Sister Constance Mueller and Sister Marie Ann Ballard. In 1982, Mrs. Peggy Fiveash became the first lay principal.
