DRIVING ON SCHOOL PROPERTY 

TARDY SLIPS

Students will be marked tardy if they are not in the building by 7:55 a.m. Students arriving after this time must be escorted into the building by a guardian, who must sign them in at the office.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event of a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning, students will not be dismissed. Parents may remain in the school and seek shelter until conditions subside. Once it is safe to resume dismissal, rainy-day dismissal procedures will be followed.

drop-off / arrival

• Cars may not enter the parking lot from Altruria Road from 7:30–8:30 am on school days.
•  School doors open at 7:30. 
• Students may not be dropped off before 7:30 unless they are enrolled in E-care and signed in by a guardian.
• All cars must enter the campus by using entrance “2” next to the Parents' Day Out Building on Charles Bryan Road. 

Drop off point C for Preschool ONLY

• Preschool parents should park in the available spaces near the front entrance of the school.
• A sign-in table is located near the front doors.Please sign your child in using the book assigned to your child’s classroom teacher.
   

For the first few weeks of school, parents may walk their child to the classroom. After Labor Day, we ask parents to say goodbye in the front lobby and allow their child to walk to the classroom independently. This helps our students build confidence and independence.
Teachers and aides will be stationed in the hallway to help students with this transition.

Drop off point B for Kindergarten

• Students will enter the building through the main school doors.
• Students arriving between 7:30–7:50 a.m. will proceed to the school gym, where teachers will walk them to their classrooms.
• Beginning at 7:50 a.m., all Kindergarten–8th grade students must be dropped off at Point B.
• On rainy days, parents may park and walk their child into the building or drop them off at the circle drive.

Drop-Off Point A for 1st–8th Grade
Open from 7:30 – 7:50 am.

• Cars should form a single line and proceed to the circular drive for drop-off at Point A.
• Students may exit their vehicles only in the designated drop-off area.
• Students must exit from the RIGHT side of the vehicle and use the sidewalk to walk to the school entrance.
• Students will enter the building through the Middle School hallway entrance and proceed to the gym.
• After dropping off students, cars should carefully proceed forward to:
  • Exit onto Altruria Road, or
  • Turn left toward the school field and exit onto Charles Bryan using Exit 3.​

PICK-UP / DISMISSAL

The safety of our students is our top priority when developing and implementing dismissal procedures.

Other factors—including time spent in line, convenience for those picking up students, and compliance with Bartlett traffic regulations—have also been carefully considered in developing our dismissal plan. For the plan to work safely and efficiently, it is essential that everyone follows the procedures outlined below.

Siblings / Carpools
Please follow the procedure for the youngest child.

Pre-K Students 
Pre-K 3 is dismissed at 2:45. Pre-K 4 is dismissed at 2:50.

• Teachers will walk students to the courtyard, where they will wait in the designated area for pick-up.
• On rainy days, students will wait in the school gym lobby.
• Parents should park in the parking area on the Stage Road side of the building and walk to the courtyard to pick up their students.
• After picking up their students, cars should exit onto Charles Bryan Road using Exit 1.

Kindergarten Students
Kindergarten students are dismissed at 3:00. 

• Teachers will walk students to the courtyard, where they will wait for pick-up.
• On rainy days, Kindergarten students will be dismissed from the covered area beneath the Bell Tower.
• Parents should park in the parking lot on the Stage Rd side and walk to the designated dismissal area to pick up their students.
• After picking up their students, cars should exit onto Charles Bryan Road using Exit 1.

1st - 8th Grade Students
Students in grades 1st -8th are dismissed at 3:00 p.m.

• Students who are being picked up with a Pre-K or Kindergarten sibling should proceed directly to the courtyard at 3:00 p.m.
  • Parents must pick up these students from the courtyard.
• Teachers will walk students to the afternoon pick-up point at the “island.”
• Cars should enter the dismissal area using the Charles Bryan driveway closest to Ave Maria Home.
• Cars may not enter the parking lot from Alturia Road between 2:30–3:30 p.m.
• Cars will form a double line as shown on the attached map.
• After students are loaded, cars should exit onto Altruria Road.
• On rainy days, all students in grades 1–8 will be dismissed from the circle drive and will exit through the front doors of the Youth Gym.
